Definition and details for dekan:
Dekan is a unit of angle measurement equal to 10 deg, or 1/36 circle. This unit was used by ancient Egyptians, which divided the circle of the Zodiac into 36 divisions. These divisions was called by the Greeks as dekans. The unit is still used sometimes in astrology, where one dekan equals 1/3 sign.
Definition and details for second (astronomy):
Second (" or s or sec) is also a unit of angle measurement used in astronomy to count longitude. Astronomers divide the equator into 24 hours instead of 360 degrees and measure the right ascension, which is the longitude coordinate for positions in the sky, in units of time. This makes 1 second of longitude equal to 15 arcseconds.
