The Zimbabwe Dollar (ZWD) was the official currency of Zimbabwe between 1980 and 12 April 2009. Currently, foreign currencies such as the Botswana Pula, Pound Sterling, South African Rand and the United States Dollar are widely used instead for nearly all transactions in Zimbabwe.
