DTP point (pt) is the desktop publishing point used by typographers and printers. It is defined to be equal to 1/72 of the Anglo-Saxon compromise inch of 1959 (25.4 mm), which is approximately 0.0139 inch or 352.8 micrometers. DTP point is sometimes called PostScript point also.
